In this I see many things, yet the two main ones that really stand out to me are, on one hand, an overwhelming sense of the darkest terror, of everything that lurks in the darkest corners of our minds, and yet, on the other, a feeling of final, sweet, blissful escape. This picture is more than just a pair of shadowy legs in a dark hallway. It symbolizes everything that we fear lurks in the darkest of dark, everything that makes us cower in terror, yet at the same time it symbolizes everything we want to let go of, physically run away from and be free of forever. Kudos upon kudos upon kudos, my friend. This is truly one magnificent and thought-provoking photograph.
When I first saw the thumbnail, immediately what I saw was the lower body of a woman standing before the camera. It wasn't until I saw it in large that I saw the body walking forward. I'm never sure if the photograph is stationary or in-motion.
The positive space within the image gives the impression that the body is walking towards the viewer, the long exposure giving the sense of perpetually motion, while the darkness in the negative space manages to create an equally lose image of a body static, standing in front of the viewer from the waist down.
